Page’s lead over Berger grows, Businesses that rely on fuel feel Iran war effects

Good morning, North Carolina! Here’s what you need to know today.

The Big Story

Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page widened his small lead over North Carolina Senate leader Phil Berger on Friday in N.C. Senate District 26 as provisional ballots were counted in Rockingham and Guilford counties.

Page gained 21 votes on Berger, finishing with 13,136 to Berger’s 13,113, a 23-vote lead. Page held a two-vote lead Tuesday in the Republican primary.

“We started out on election night in the lead and we continue that process and our numbers continue to build,” Page said Friday. “I’m very satisfied with the numbers we saw today and I think they were to point now that my opponent can’t catch up.”
