WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A teenager has been arrested in connection with the crash that killed an on-duty Forsyth County sheriff’s deputy over the weekend, court documents show.
Warrants state that Bryan Castillo, 19, was going 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on US 311 when there was a crash that killed Deputy Kaleb Mitchell, 24.
Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office announced Mitchell’s death on Saturday. A memorial for Mitchell has been set up in front of the sheriff’s office on North Church Street in Winston-Salem for anyone who may wish to pay their respects.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. on Saturday. Mitchell was en route to relieve his fellow deputies from a call when he was involved in a crash. Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough says he arrived at the ER around 6:30 a.m. and was told that Mitchell had died.
