Greensboro police charge 22-year-old with over a dozen crimes after barricading himself inside Forsyth County home

WALKERTOWN, N.C. — A 22-year-old Greensboro man was taken into custody Monday after barricading himself inside a Walkertown residence and refusing to come out, ultimately requiring a SWAT team to remove him, authorities said.

According to law enforcement officials, Timothy Benton was located in the 5300 block of Cedar Green Drive by the Greensboro Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, working alongside the State Bureau of Investigation’s Criminal Apprehension Team, who were attempting to serve outstanding warrants.
