Proposed merger of two Rockingham County elementary schools goes to parents for input

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A Piedmont Triad school district is hosting a forum for parents who have questions about a potential upcoming school merger.

Rockingham County Schools will hold a parent information meeting for parents of students at Moss Street Elementary and South End Elementary on Monday, March 16 at 6 p.m. at the Reidsville High School media center.

Guilford County Schools superintendent outlines budget proposal, 5-year plan

The proposed merger will happen at the start of the 2026-2027 school year, if it is adopted during the upcoming March 23 board meeting.

Rockingham County Schools said in a release, “Our district is working to bring two school communities together as we prepare for a new school building in the future. This transition is designed to create stronger opportunities for students by combining resources, staff expertise and programs while we wait for the new facility to be completed.”…
