Police shut down large gatherings of ‘unsupervised juveniles’ in downtown Winston-Salem; chief calls on community to act

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The Winston-Salem Police Department is urging the community to provide safe activities for youth after a large gathering was shut down Wednesday evening.

According to a Facebook post from the WSPD, police broke up an unsanctioned spring break party that was planned to take place at a city park. A crowd of around 200 teens then took the party to downtown Winston-Salem spaces, including business parking lots.
