Bright orange glow spotted as WFMY covers power outages in a Greensboro neighborhood

GREENSBORO, N.C. — If you woke up without power in parts of Greensboro Tuesday morning, you’re not alone—but things are improving.

According to Duke Energy, about 460 customers were in the dark early on. That number has now dropped to around 110 as crews work to restore service.

WFMY News 2’s Giselle Thomas spotted Duke Energy crews arriving on Forest Valley Road – right off Bryan Boulevard – where they’ve started repairs. One worker said they were called out to handle underground work in that area, and power restoration is already in progress.

That orange glow caught people’s attention

Neighbors in the area also noticed something unusual earlier this morning – a bright orange glow coming from behind a home…
