Past wrestling coach remembers late Forsyth County Deputy Kaleb Mitchell

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Those who knew Forsyth County Deputy Kaleb Mitchell say he was dedicated to serving others long before his career in law enforcement.

Inside the wrestling room at South Stokes High School, trophies and team photos now serve as reminders of Mitchell’s time there as a student-athlete. His former wrestling coach, Chad Amos, remembers him as a standout on and off the mat.

“Kaleb wrestled here as a freshman in 2016 and graduated in 2020. He was a four-year letterman, four-time all-conference, a three-time state qualifier and placed fourth in the state his junior year,” Amos said.
