High Point man shoots, kills girlfriend before later turning gun on himself, police say

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point woman died Tuesday morning after police say her boyfriend shot her multiple times before later dying by suicide.

According to the High Point Police Department, officers responded around 3 a.m. to a shots fired call at the Oaks at Silver Ridge apartments in the 2900 block of East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The first officer arrived within two minutes and found Jonal N. Hodge, 22, of High Point, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in the parking lot. The officer immediately began life-saving measures.

Guilford County EMS transported Hodge to a local hospital in critical condition. She died a short time later…
