HIGH POINT, N.C. — A Guilford County jail inmate is facing additional charges after attempting to escape from the High Point Detention Center last week, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office said.
Taylor Lewis Bradshaw, 34, was discovered Friday inside the attorney visitation room of Housing Unit 4, standing on a metal stool with a large section of sheetrock pulled from the ceiling, according to sheriff’s officials. When questioned, Bradshaw admitted he was trying to escape. Deputies also found he had several metal pieces fashioned into weapons.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on March 20 during a routine round by a detention officer following lunch service. The area above the ceiling did not provide a means of exit from the facility…
