BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Alamance-Burlington School System Board of Education voted unanimously on Monday to redraw school boundaries for the 2026-27 school year, approving a rezoning plan aimed at relieving overcrowding across the district.
The board selected Scenario 1 of two proposed elementary rezoning options, which district administrators had recommended as the plan most likely to produce favorable results across affected schools. The scenario will shift approximately 820 students across 11 elementary schools when it takes effect in August.
