High Point detective dies unexpectedly after suffering medical emergency

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point Police Department detective known across the Triad for playing bagpipes at law enforcement memorials has died following a medical emergency, the department announced.

Detective David Rosser, 42, died earlier this week. The department did not specify the date or nature of the medical emergency. Information on funeral services was not immediately available.
