‘He wanted help’; Mother speaks out after son accused of stealing ambulance in Randolph County

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — The mother of a man accused of stealing the Randolph County Emergency Service’s ambulance says she wants people to understand what her son was going through before everything unfolded last week.

Martha Morgan says she saw her son, Allan Morgan, struggling with drug addiction for years. On days leading up to the incident, Morgan says her son expressed multiple times that he felt “lost.” However, when the family tried to get him professional help, Morgan says their efforts didn’t lead to the support they were seeking.

Now, she says it’s painful watching Allan Morgan still at the Randolph County jail, and she feels “lost” too.

“I finally got to talk to him yesterday. He called from the jail and that’s when he told me he doesn’t know why he took the ambulance,” Morgan said…
