Insurance company sued 3 years after fire at Greensboro condo complex: ‘Chain reaction of nonsense’

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Home Owners Association for the Somerset Village Condominiums is suing State Farm after they say the insurance company won’t pay up on the last roughly $500,000 needed to complete a rebuild after a devastating fire.

“It’s a chain reaction of nonsense,” said Chris Young, who owns one of the condos in the 5004 building that burned three years ago.

The fire at the building started on March 23, 2023. Drivers and people who lived nearby could see the flames shooting up at the top of the building. The cause was undetermined.
