Possible changes coming to Spring Garden Street corridor in Greensboro: ‘Want to see a unifying thread’

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro city staff are hoping people will share their thoughts on ways to improve Spring Garden Street at a community input session that will shape the future of the corridor.

The Spring Garden Street Corridor plan seeks to address traffic, safety and beautification.

Interim Planning Director Russ Clegg at the City of Greensboro says its a major area that deserves some dedicated care.

Safety Concerns

“It really connects a lot of different things. It goes by the Coliseum. It goes into UNCG. It collects Lindley Park and some other neighborhoods,” Clegg said.

Spring Garden Street sees a lot of traffic, and while that’s good for business, local owners say it’s not always the safest with people also walking the sidewalks and crosswalks…
