Leaving the poetry reading at “The Second Hand Book” on Tuesday, we were struck by the beauty of VanderVeen Photographers at 901 Spring Garden Street. The lighting at night gives the studio the feeling of loneliness of an Edward Hopper painting. By day, the solitary feeling fades and you see people coming and going, a very nice seating area, surrounded by well-manicured landscaping.
We’ve been around long enough to remember when this College Hill building housed “The Clothesline” and “Adelaide’s” after that. Mary has moved to the beach and Adelaide has moved her business on down to 2000 Spring Garden Street. Let’s hope the VanderVeens are here for a very long time.
Happy Saturday!…
