HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Officers with the High Point Police Department and across the Triad are remembering Detective David Rosser as a friend, mentor and the familiar sound behind countless ceremonies.
For years, if bagpipes played at a law enforcement event in the Triad, chances are it was Rosser performing with the department’s honor guard.

“His main role in the honor guard was playing the bagpipes. He’s known throughout the state for playing the bagpipes for various ceremonies and funerals,” said Lieutenant Dusty Brackett with the High Point Police Department.
Friends Remember Rosser
Brackett first met Rosser decades ago at Oak Ridge Military Academy, where Rosser was already known for his presence on campus.
