One dead after early-morning house fire in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — One person has died following a residential fire early Sunday morning in Greensboro, fire officials said.

At approximately 6:47 a.m., Greensboro Fire Department crews, along with Greensboro Police and Guilford County EMS, responded to a reported structure fire at 914 Reid Street. Fire units arrived within four minutes, and 17 firefighters were on scene within eight minutes of the initial call to Guilford Metro 911.

Guilford County EMS transported one victim to a local hospital, where the person was later pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin…
