Bald eagle rescued from fishing line entanglement in Haw River

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — A female bald eagle was found entangled in fishing line in the Haw River on March 27.

The NC Wildlife Resources Commission officers journeyed more than 7 miles by boat to free her. The eagle was transported by the American Wildlife Refuge, a local non-profit wildlife rehabilitator, to their facility for assessment and care.

They are expecting the eagle to be released within the next week…
