Guilford County homeowners race to appeal property reappraisals as values surge

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Homeowners across Guilford County have a little over a month left to appeal their newly assessed property values, as a wave of reappraisals continues to drive concerns about rising tax burdens. Officials report that more than 6,000 appeals have already been submitted, and that number is expected to grow as the deadline approaches.

The surge in property values reflects the rapid growth of the Triad region—but for many residents, that growth comes with a financial strain.
