Wanted Graham man accused of raping, strangling woman

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WGHP) — A Piedmont Triad man is wanted on several charges related to the sexual assault of a woman in Virginia.

At around 9 a.m. on Sunday, deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office came to the 1500 block of Virginia Avenue after a woman called to report a domestic incident.

The woman told investigators that she was physically and sexually assaulted by Christopher Thomas Shepard, 35, of Graham, at a home. Shepard allegedly used a gun to threaten her life.

Warrants were later obtained for Shepard on the following charges:

  • Rape
  • Object sexual penetration
  • Strangulation
  • Abduction
  • Assault and battery of a family or household member
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony

Deputies say that Shepard is also wanted in North Carolina for a probation violation related to a prior felony conviction. He is primarily from Graham and has limited ties to Henry County, Virginia. He is considered to be armed and dangerous…
