Friends, community mourn longtime Greensboro radio personality Renee Vaughn: ‘Glad she touched everybody’s lives’

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A beloved voice in the Triad, known to many as Renee Vaughn, a radio personality on 97.1 QMG, is being remembered not just for her impact on the airwaves but for the way she connected with people away from the mic.

Vaughn died over the weekend, and the radio station confirmed her passing in a post on Facebook.

Loss Felt Across Community

Loved ones, close friends, and those who have worked with her said they’re remembering her as the woman she was on and off air.

“I was saddened … What a loss we have not having her in the community, but then as I think about it, I think all the wonderful memories I have with her,” said Joe Williams, event producer of the John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival.
