Drive fall to Dash in series finale, 12-2

GREENVILLE (Greenville Drive) – The Greenville Drive settled for a six-game series tie after losing 12-2 against the Winston-Salem Dash on Sunday at Fluor Field. The Dash improves to 36-27, while the Drive drops to 25-35.

Marcus Phillips opened the series finale and threw three no-hit innings, sending three batters down by strikeout. However, his seven walks proved costly after a double steal in the third caused Kyle Lodise to tag safely at home, giving the Dash a one-run lead.

Matt McShane entered in relief during the fourth. After working out of that frame, he surrendered a two-run homer to Ryan Burrows in the fifth, extending the Dash’s lead to three. McShane then gave up a leadoff solo shot to Boston Smith in the sixth, pushing the advantage to four…
