‘Dead in the water’: Network shutdown halts Spartanburg Co. court operations

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — An internet outage has forced some of Spartanburg County’s operations offline, disrupting critical services while investigators work to determine the cause.

The outage, which began Wednesday, led to the immediate shutdown of several internal systems as a precaution while cybersecurity teams assess potential risks.

State cybersecurity officials, including the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, told 7NEWS that the investigation is ongoing. The South Carolina Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity team is assisting the county in response to the internet outage.
