BMW unveils X5 in world premiere at Upstate plant

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – BMW executives unveiled the new BMW X5 on Tuesday, marking the SUV’s world premiere.

The debut comes as BMW continues investing in the Upstate and South Carolina as the company expands production and prepares for an electrified future.

Officials announced the following about the new models:

  • All New BMW X5 will be the first vehicle to be offered with five drivetrain options.
  • BMW iX5 confirmed as first fully electric BMW to be assembled in the U.S. starting later this year.
  • By 2030, BMW Group will assemble at least six fully electric models in the United States.

Additionally, BMW unveiled a new “Home of X” sculpture outside the BMW Zentrum in Greer, celebrating the global home of BMW X Sports Utility Vehicles in the Upstate.
