Greenville car theft chase ends as trio flees into woods, sheriff says

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A heavy law enforcement presence was reported on Kings Creek Road near S.C. 121 after three men left a stolen car after a brief high-speed chase with a sheriff’s deputy and entered a wooded area on Sunday, the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office said.

The men were wanted in connection with a car theft in Greenville and were wearing dark clothing. It is not known whether they are armed.

Dogs tracked the men through the heavily wooded area in Newberry County and back onto S.C. 121, where the trail was lost, according to the sheriff’s office…
