Upstate man sentenced to prison for New Year’s Eve DUI crash that killed 4

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – An Upstate man charged in a DUI crash that killed four people on New Year’s Eve in 2024 has been sentenced to prison.

The Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office said Nicholas Shane Meeks pleaded guilty on Monday to four counts of reckless homicide. Meeks was sentenced to 35 years in prison on all four counts.

Under the sentence, Meeks is required to serve 55 percent of the ten years for the first three counts before he can ask for parole. For the fourth count, Meeks will have to serve 55 percent of five years. He also received credit for time served…
