Flock cameras have caught the attention of the Upstate recently following the termination of two Greer police officers who misused the technology. In Fountain Inn, officials say this technology is not being used by city police.
“The City of Fountain Inn does not own or operate any Flock cameras,” said Fountain Inn Mayor GP McLeer. “Any policy related to the use of automatic license plate readers, manufactured by Flock or any other provider, would be discussed by the City Council prior to adoption.”
While the Fountain Inn Police Department does not currently use this technology, two cameras were listed by Deflock.org as having Fountain Inn addresses. Deflock is a website that tracks reported Flock cameras. One of these cameras was listed on Greenpond Road, and the other on McCarter Road…
