SLED charges Greenville County man with lottery fraud

A Greenville County man has been charged with lottery fraud following an investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

SLED charged John Franklin Koon Jr., 47, of Piedmont, with intent to defraud involving counterfeit game tickets on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The investigation was requested by the South Carolina Education Lottery.

According to an arrest warrant, investigators allege Koon fraudulently obtained South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off tickets without paying for them on July 1 at a Stop-A-Minit convenience store on Georgia Road in Simpsonville…
