2 rabid skunks found in Pickens County; dog exposed, SCDPH says

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Two skunks found in Pickens County last week have tested positive for rabies, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Health.

Officials said the skunks were found near Odell Street and Smith Circle in Liberty.

One dog was exposed to the first skunk on Friday and the second skunk on Sunday. The dog will be quarantined in accordance with the South Carolina Rabies Control Act…
