PENDLETON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Dr. Jermaine Johnson, Democratic nominee for Governor of South Carolina, kicked off a statewide campaign tour Monday with stops across Anderson and Pickens counties.
Johnson and his running mate lieutenant governor nominee Sam Skardon, launched their “College & County Tour” in the Upstate to meet with local leaders, community members, and college students.
Here’s a look at Monday’s stops:
- Anderson community tour (10–11:45 a.m.): The morning itinerary includes visits to the Anderson Mayor’s Office, Carolina Wren Park’s Chadwick Boseman art display, Church Street Heritage Plaza, and the Anderson County Veterans Memorial.
- Community Town Hall Luncheon (noon–2 p.m.): Held at the Civic Center of Anderson on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Anderson County Councilman Glen Davis is scheduled to introduce Johnson before an open community conversation and audience Q&A session.
- Pendleton gathering (4–5:15 p.m.): The ticket heads to Brews at the Square in downtown Pendleton for an informal meet-and-greet.
- Clemson University (7–9 p.m.): The day wraps up in Pickens County at Clemson University’s Hendrix Student Center Ballrooms for “Tiger Jamz,” an event geared toward students and young voters.
