Former Melville Company Manager Gets 30 Months for $1.6M Embezzlement Scheme

A former credit supervisor at a Melville health care products company was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison after prosecutors said he embezzled about $1.6 million and spent the money on his wedding, international vacations and a failed restaurant venture.

Tony Ream, 35, of Greenville, South Carolina, was sentenced Thursday, Sept. 24, in federal court in Central Islip after previously pleading guilty to wire fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

U.S. District Judge Sanket J. Bulsara also ordered Ream, who also used the names Tony Ream-Hendley and Tony Moul Ream, to pay $1.6 million in restitution to his former employer and a $1,000 fine…
