Southernside East’s affordable senior apartments are expected to open by the end of 2026, while Southernside West is in the early stages of construction. Greenville Housing Fund reported the progress September 18, placing the two developments near Unity Park on different construction timelines.
Southernside East is planned to provide 93 apartments at West Washington and Hudson streets, just north of the park. The development serves renters aged 55 and older with low or moderate incomes, with homes divided between two buildings.
The East project’s plans include one- and two-bedroom apartments with balconies and laundry connections. Shared facilities include laundry, fitness, computer and gathering rooms, while the Greenville Housing Authority secured 55 project-based housing vouchers to help support affordability…
