SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Walter Anderson (+1) tied for eighth Sunday at the Carolina Cup at the par 72, 6,929 yard Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C. The tournament featured 42 individuals from Southeast teams.
A redshirt junior from Baton Rouge, La., Anderson carded a 73 with four birdies in round one then birdied four of his last six holes in round two to finish with an even 72. He concluded the tournament seven strokes back of individual winners Jose Vidal (-6) of Cumberlands and Wofford’s Andrew Neal.
Senior Fisher Kennedy (+2) fired a 1-under 71 with four birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 12 and No. 13, in round one and added a 75 with birdies on No. 1 and No. 13 to tie for 11th, and freshman Ewen Farquhar tied for 13th after notching a 75 with a birdie on No. 18 in the first round and a 72 with four birdies in round two…
