- Isuzu North America donated an N-Gas truck to South Greenville Fire & Rescue during a Sept. 28 push-in ceremony.
- The truck will support fire prevention, CPR, water safety and other community education programs.
- Isuzu is developing a $280 million truck assembly plant on Augusta Road expected to open in 2027.
- The 200-acre facility is expected to employ more than 700 people by the end of 2028.
Members of the Isuzu North America team joined Greenville firefighters and community members on Sept. 28 for a push-in ceremony at the South Greenville Fire & Rescue station on Augusta Road.
It was a milestone on Isuzu’s journey to become, as Isuzu North America President Hiroki Motohashi explained, not just a company with operations in Greenville, but a contributing member of the community.
The truck they pushed into a bay at the station — a tradition that dates back to a time when horses couldn’t back in firefighting wagons — was a gift from Isuzu to the fire service and similar to the kind eventually to roll off a nearby assembly line under development now by Isuzu…
