Boone Leads the Chill at 39 Degrees

Boone is forecast to be one of the coldest spots in the region Wednesday morning, with a low near 39 degrees. The surrounding high country could see similar or even colder readings at higher elevations.

The highest mountains northeast of Asheville are highlighted for lows in the 30s. Residents in these areas will want warm layers for early morning activities.

Asheville, Waynesville, and Hendersonville in the Low 40s

Asheville and Waynesville are both forecast to reach around 42 degrees Wednesday morning. Hendersonville is expected to be close behind at around 43 degrees.

Franklin is forecast near 45 degrees, while Hickory and Johnson City are expected around 44. These readings mark some of the coolest mornings of the season so far for the region.
