The South Carolina Student Loan Corp. launched two new programs on Sept. 30 to help public school teachers refinance or recieve student loan forgiveness.
The limited-time loan products are funded by a $10 million budget proviso authored by state Rep. Neal Collins. Collins represents District 5, which includes part of Greenville and Pickens Counties.
“This program is intended to provide financial support for teachers to keep them in the classroom,” Collins said in a statement. “This is our way of showing them their service is important to the people, especially the children, of South Carolina.”…
