Coats of Kindness asks for your donations of cold-weather items to help those in need

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – 7NEWS is Caring for the Carolinas along with community partners to help clothe those in need during the cold winter months.

7NEWS will be at Hamrick’s of Greenville on January 23 asking for your donations until 6 p.m. for the nonprofit Coats of Kindness collecting hats, mittens, coats, blankets and sleeping bags.

All proceeds will be going to Coats of Kindness.

Organizer Shirley Clark works with children in the school system, scouts programs and churches to find those in need of cold-weather items and distribute them.

Clark said her mission also serves the homeless and she is looking for a building to house “Miss Shirley’s Mission” and a warming shelter.

Donators can drop off items at 25 Park Woodruff Drive in Greenville during the following days and hours:
