GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WPSA) – One person was killed and another was arrested Friday night in an officer-involved shooting in Greenville County.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to South Piedmont Highway and Cemetery Street just before 11 p.m. after dispatchers received a call for service regarding a disturbance and possibly an assault.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered two individuals, one of whom was armed. Officials said the incident resulted in an officer-involved shooting where a deputy shot one person.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said another person was detained and taken into custody for assault.
