Nikki Haley holds campaign rally in Mauldin

MAULDIN, S.C. (WSPA) – Former South Carolina Governor and current candidate for the 2024 Republican nomination for President Nikki Haley spoke in Mauldin on Saturday.

The Mauldin High School gymnasium was a sea of red, white and blue, as Nikki Haley took the stage. The former governor started off her speech talking about the GOP primary race.

“What a strange week it has been, when we had started this there were 14 people in the race and one by one, we dismissed the fellas right, one by one,” Haley said.

Throughout the evening Haley brought up another GOP candidate.

“Another hard truth, I voted for Donald Trump twice, I was proud to serve America in his administration but rightly or wrongly chaos follows him.”

Haley told voters what she would do if she’s voted into the oval office.

“When I am president, we will no longer give countries money that hate America,” she said.

Emphasizing that foreign policy, drugs, education and immigration are important issues to her.

“I’ll take you back to when I was governor, we passed the toughest illegal immigrant laws in the country, President Obama sued me over it, and we won,” she said.
