Volunteers take headcount of Upstate homeless population, offering help and hope

GREENVILLE, S.C. – This week, volunteers and deputies are counting the Upstate’s homeless men, women, and children as a part of this year’s point in time. Point in Time, or the PIT count, is a nationwide effort every year to count local homeless populations. It’s a weeklong hands-on effort undertaken by area nonprofits and volunteers.
