ANDERSON CO., S.C. (WSPA) – The Williamston Police Department is investigating after four cars were broken into at Williamston Church of Christ between 4-5 p.m. Sunday.
“Individuals busted out the passenger side window and entered from there. All of them were consistent with the passenger side,” said Lt. Jody Culbertson with the police department.
Culbertson said church was in service during the time of the incident.
“Today we are reviewing video to see exactly what we can see and making contact with the victims. Last night they were pretty shocked. People wouldn’t think that you would go to church on a bright sunny Sunday afternoon and have your car broken into. We’re still doing inventory of what was taken,” said Culbertson.
Investigators said several debit and credit cards were taken as well as three cell phones, one wallet, one purse and money.
“At the time, I was able to lift fingerprints from the vehicles. We are reviewing security videos. It’s a lot of video to review and we have not completely gone through that yet. I have the fingerprints that will be processed through Anderson County. They can run it through their fingerprinting identification system to see if we can get a match on the prints,“ said Culbertson.
