The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office held their Promotion and Award Ceremony for first quarter 2024 Wednesday morning.
The program honored employees being promoted, and Medal of Honor and Valor recipients. Five men were honored for their heroic actions on September 8, 2023, when Deputies responded to a shooting on Sims Lane in Spartanburg.
The victim, Desi Bray, was found in the front yard, shot multiple times in his back and head and unable to move. That day, Deputies saved his life.
Honored for their heroism: Sergeant Tim Amsler, Master Deputy Tyler Smith, Deputy 1st Class Zachary Keefe, Deputy 1st Class Justin Gardner and Deputy 1st Class Travis Wood. Also present at the ceremony Wednesday, Desi Bray.
