One dead after Greenville Co. shooting, deputies say

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A man is dead following a shooting that occurred in Greenville County Wednesday evening.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to 20 Chalmers Rd. at around 9:17 p.m. regarding a person who had been shot.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found an adult man with at least one gunshot wound. He was then taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The suspect has been taken into custody.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the man who died.

Officials said the investigation is in its early stages.
