Dogs, puppies found in “unacceptable conditions,” 1 arrested

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person has been charged after police reportedly found dogs living under garbage and without food or water in Williamston.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, the dogs were found following an eviction on Brian Court.

The owner of the dogs, James Robert Moore, was reportedly evicted from a home he’d been renting days before they were found. The owner of the rental property called animal control about the conditions of the dogs.

Multiple emaciated dogs were found in a back yard, tied up without access to food or water, and puppies were found underneath debris and garbage, the sheriff’s office said.

Moore was arrested and charged with six counts of ill treatment of animals.

The dogs were given to Anderson PAWS for evaluation.
