Priority WR Target Commits Elsewhere

One of Clemson’s top wide receivers targets has committed elsewhere.

4-star Cortez Mills (Homestead, FL) has announced a commitment to Oklahoma, choosing the Sooners over Clemson, LSU, Florida and Nebraska.

Mills picked up his offer from Clemson in June of 2023 after working out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. He had long been one of the Tigers’ top targets at the position and was one of just two receivers to attend the big official visit weekend.

“The visit went great,” Mills told The Clemson Insider. “It’s a great program and I just enjoyed my time there. Just showed me the culture is super different, and there’s no other college that’s like that.”

Mills ranks as high a No. 69 overall and No. 12 among all wide receivers in the class.

The Tigers already have one receiver committed in the 2025 class in 4-star Ju Ju Preston and are still looking to add at the position. 4-star Samari Reed, who was the other wideout on hand for the big official visit weekend, is set to announce on Wednesday and 4-star Dillon Alfred is eyeing a July commitment.
