High School Standouts: Miah Johnson, Riverside Track

GREER, S.C. (WSPA) – This week’s high school standout is a tri-sport athlete who has proven to be successful in all three sports on top of maintaining a 4.9 GPA, with AP and Honors credits.

Miah Johnson, a graduating senior from Riverside High School, has already signed with Kennesaw State University to continue her career in both cross country and track and field.

After moving from California following her freshman year, Johnson immediately made an impact at her new high school. Throughout her career at Riverside, she won two track and field State Championships, three cross country All-State honors, and a State Championship in basketball. Additionally, Johnson was named the Riverside Female Athlete of the Year in both 2023 and 2024.

“It’s really special to me just because we moved out here no too long ago and I was really nervous about coming onto a new team and, ‘am I going to be good enough for this team, how am I going to do here,’ but I think achieving what I did and being able to leave that for my younger teammates to kind of follow through with and look up to is really special,” Johnson said.
