After Hurricane Helene ravaged the Upstate, thousands remained without power.
Greenville County Emergency Operations Center officials report that 90% of the county is without power.
Bob Mihalic, the county spokesperson, confirmed that full-staffed efforts to remove trees from roadways began at 7 a.m. Saturday and will continue until sunset.

The National Guard, state forestry commission, and search and rescue teams from Myrtle Beach and Charleston have joined local forces. Mihalic said Greenville County EMS is still receiving a high volume of calls.County officials continue to emphasize residents stay off the roads as much as possible to allow the crews to work. Damage assessment will be unable to begin until roadways are cleared.The county also asks if your home or business has been damaged, turn off the main breaker to avoid back feed when power is restored. Also, turn off ovens and stoves.
