After Hurricane Helene made her mark on the Upstate Friday, thousands were left without power, including gas stations.
In Greenville, long lines formed at the QuickTrip near South Pleasantburg Friday evening. Four distinct lines for residents to get gas formed. Some of the pumps were out of gas. Managers at the store declined to comment.
The long lines and waits continued on Saturday.
Around 24% of current oil production and 18% of the current natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico has been shut in, meaning a production cap is set lower than the available output of a specific site due to Helene, the Bureau of Safety and Environment Enforcement said Frida y.
The massive lines and waits were similar across the Upstate with gas stations that either did not have power or were out of gas.
On East Butler Road, a QuickTrip is open but out of gas after running out at around 8:30 Saturday morning. The store is unsure of when a gas delivery will be made.
A QuickTrip on Laurens Road confirmed there is gas – you just have to make it through the line first.
