Portal Fact or Fiction: Clemson’s portal use, Kurtis Rourke for Heisman and Diego Pavia

In today’s Fact or Fiction – Portal Edition – I look at three more transfer topics and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or FICTION .

1. Dabo Swinney lack of transfer portal use is the right decision

Mark’s take: FICTION

I’ve started to notice that after a few dominating wins, people are starting to think that Coach Swinney’s disregard of the transfer portal is the correct plan of attack. It is not. Program’s like Clemson don’t need to dive into the portal like Colorado or Ole Miss does, but every team needs some reinforcements at a couple of positions. And doing that would only help Clemson, not hurt them. So, no matter how Clemson finishes this season, Swinney should use the portal to plug whatever holes the team may have going into next season. Will he? I doubt it.

2. Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke should be receiving more Heisman talk

Mark’s take: FACT

This is 100% a fact, mostly because he is hardly mentioned anywhere by anyone. Through six games he has the Hoosiers undefeated, has passed for 1,752 yards, 14 touchdowns, only two interceptions while completing 73.8% of his attempts. If he was playing for a football blue blood he would currently be at the top of the list, but for now he remains an afterthought. The toughest part of the schedule stills awaits for the Hoosiers, with Nebraska, Washington, Michigan and Ohio State coming, so opportunities will be there for him to gain more attention.
