Boil water advisory in effect for parts of Anderson Co.

BELTON, S.C. (WSPA) — Parts of Anderson County are under a boil water advisory after a water line was damaged.

Broadway Water and Sewage District issued the boil water advisory late Tuesday afternoon, and said the Broadway School Road line in Belton was hit.

The water and sewer provider said the following areas were impacted:

  • Griffin Road
  • Dorchester Road
  • Matthews Road
  • Sylvia Road
  • Harbor Road
  • Cox Lake Road
  • Pulliam Drive
  • Broadway School Road – from Cox Lake Road to Dorchester Road

Though the water main line was repaired at around 4:30 p.m., the boil water advisory was issued for affected customers.

Water should be boiled between three to five minutes before drinking or cooking.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.
